Hi! I am Kartik!

Ever since I was old enough to peek through the magic window at the back of a camera, I have always been fascinated by light coming through it, and how it plays its magic on transforming a moment.

 

Growing up, I would use my table lamp to focus rays of light in hundreds of different ways on my poor two dogs, unwilling talents at best, thinking I am doing high level studio lighting and portraiture!  

 

When my camera moved outdoors, I found my true calling behind the lens, through a mixture of solace and inspiration in large vistas, painted by nature. Nature paints best with its light. Never the same twice, hence inherently fleeting in form. Yet, a camera can capture it for eternity. Over two decades, I have been chasing all kinds of lights in different places, trying new ways of bringing alive the moment, the emotion and the story.

 

My creations aim to evoke a sense of mystery, but just enough of it, so that one can relate to the place and would like to be there. It is intended to inspire a sense of wonder of that moment, so as to want to experience it, without feeling overwhelmed by its physicality or mysteriousness.
